CONSTITUTION OF THE ITALIAN REPUBLIC

CONSTITUTION OF THE ITALIAN REPUBLIC

Article 3

ALL CITIZENS HAVE EQUAL SOCIAL STATUS AND ARE EQUAL BEFORE THE LAW, REGARD TO THEIR SEX, RACE, LANGUAGE, RELIGION, POLITICAL OPINIONS AND PERSONAL OR SOCIAL CONDITIONS. IT IS THE DUTY OF THE REPUBLIC TO REMOVE ALL ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL OBSTACLES THAT, BY LIMITING THE FREEDOM AND EQUALITY OF CITIZENS, PREVENT FULL INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT AND THE PARTICIPATION OF ALL WORKERS IN THE POLITICAL ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL ORGANIZATION OF THE COUNTRY.

Everybody is born equal, but the rights people have are not automatic. They have to be guaranteed and the state that people are born into is the place which makes sure that they have the same opportunities as other people. It’s the way of giving people the ability to be protected and supported.

Fontana Liri I grado students read The Constitution of The Italian Republic and learnt the importance of equality.
